Sabah Travellers Invited to Explore Jiangxi & Fujian Through Culture and Cuisine

KOTA KINABALU: Sabahans are being invited to discover a different side of China — one that goes beyond big cities — through a unique cultural and culinary journey to Jiangxi and Fujian provinces.

The initiative was recently introduced during a China–Malaysia tourism sharing session in Kota Kinabalu, bringing attention to destinations that remain relatively unexplored by travellers from Sabah.

According to organisers, the programme aims to balance travel exchange, as more Chinese tourists have been visiting Sabah in recent years, while outbound travel from Sabah to China is still growing.

A New Travel Experience for Sabahans

Unlike typical fast-paced tours, this package focuses on a slower, more immersive travel style, ideal for travellers who want to relax while experiencing authentic culture.

Among the highlights:

• Scenic visits to Wangxian Valley, known for its dramatic cliffside architecture and night views
• Cultural experiences including traditional banquets and local performances
• Leisure activities like bamboo rafting surrounded by nature
• A strong focus on food experiences, introducing travellers to authentic regional Chinese cuisine

Culture, Heritage & Porcelain Capital

One of the key stops includes Jingdezhen, famously known as China’s “Porcelain Capital,” with a history dating back over 1,000 years.

Visitors will have the chance to:

Direct Access from Kota Kinabalu
