Bridge Closed on Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen Following Structural Damage

Kota Kinabalu, 31 July 2026 — The Sabah Public Works Department (JKR) has closed the bridge at Kilometre 2.850 of Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen after an inspection uncovered significant structural damage to its concrete deck.
The closure took effect from noon on 31 July and affects the route heading from KK City towards Teluk Likas. JKR says the bridge will remain shut until temporary diversion works are completed, and is advising road users to plan alternative routes in the meantime to avoid disruption.
Motorists commuting between the city centre and Likas / Teluk Likas should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternative roads until further notice.
